Pest Research Consultants (PRC) facilities focus on providing entomology testing services and consultancy that support the research and development of new insecticide and repellent molecules and formulations for the control of urban pests. These molecules and formulations are tested for both the consumer and professional pest control industry.
PRC have modern laboratory facilities which include an insect breeding facility and insecticide application and evaluation laboratories.
We carry out entomology studies for the development of new insecticide and repellent molecules and formulations as well as generating data for product registration and marketing.
The two principal staff are Mr Bryce Peters and Dr Peter Miller who have been working in the field of urban entomology and evaluation of insecticides and repellents for over 35 years. PRC are well respected in the industry and have carried out studies for most of the major insecticide development companies in Australia and throughout the world. The laboratories have a range of equipment including WHO mosquito chambers, a Peet Grady Chamber, automatic aerosol dispensers, a Potter spray tower and a Flea Data artificial dog.
We also carry out field studies. Australia has a wide climatic range from cool temperate to tropical with an equally wide range of urban pests. These include, cockroaches, mosquitoes, flies, biting midges, ticks, fleas, ants, spiders and termites. The Australian summer is from December to February which enables us to conduct field studies in the winter season of the Northern Hemisphere.
Pest Research Consultants (PRC) have worked with many consumer and professional insecticide manufacturers evaluating numerous products that have been successful in the market.
PRC has also undertaken testing for Choice magazine in both Australia and New Zealand. Both principal staff are interviewed regularly on national radio and occasionally on national television and press regarding urban insects and their control.
